Still early on, but better this time! After attempting to read Ancillary Justice a few times and ending up pretty confused each time, I'm just going with the confusion. I find myself less concerned with getting lost in books (forgetting who is who, or losing the plot) and more accepting of the overall experience. I have Gene Wolfe to thank for this. Plus more willing to put books down!

I get that. Def happened to me with Dune the first time I read it.
For my part, I was thrilled at the "first person omniscient" tense (sf lit nerd alert), which I'd never seen before.
