Vol. 1 of the Almanac will be included with all pledges and preorders of the Cloud Empress Life & Death campaign (a little silly most people will get vol. 2 before vol. 1, but what can you do?).
Very hyped, but curious why two out of the three aren't using the same trade dress? The strong unity of design is really appealing and it's bumming me out to lose that. Wasn't even sure if they were CE or not without reading further.
The concept is that the books model the tone and writing of an object you'd find in the world of the Hereafter. These are mostly written as found objects with fictional authors. Open to reconsidering though if folks feel strongly about keeping a more consistent brand identity across these zines too.
I sort of thought that might be the case. I don't know if anyone else loves brand identity like i do, but it adds so much to the look for me. Thanks for the info!
Personally, if the zine is going to look like an in-world item, I would go 100% with that, make it look very "in-worldy", so changing the back would be more detrimental. (IMO)
This is all extremely cool as hell.
Thank you kindly!
I like the idea of in-universe books!
Was there a print edition of the first volume of the Cloud Empress Almanac?
Thanks!

Ah okay! I lost track but was all-in on the Life & Death Kickstarter so, hooray! ;)

It's possible I could do the backside in a more traditional Cloud Empress format too?
