Welcome to the worlds by watt newsletter. I’m watt, creator of the ecological science fantasy tabletop roleplaying game Cloud Empress. For all things Cloud Empress, go to CloudEmpress.com or support me on Patreon.
Last October, I started exploring an alternative to Substack due to the rampant hate speech tolerated on the platform and Substack recommending a Nazi newsletter to thousands of users. Since then, I’ve been exploring options and getting Life and Death box sets to retail channels. I’ve also watched several TTRPG creators successfully move to Patreon.
On September 5th, I’ll be exporting my subscriber list to Patreon.
You’ll be added as a free follower of my Patreon and will receive a notification from Patreon about the move. As a follower, you will not be charged anything, and you’ll start receiving my free newsletter posts from Patreon to your email.
My current plan is to post creative content (like free expansions) on Patreon, with more marketing-related updates sent out through my website or another newsletter platform.
If you have any questions or concerns, let me know in the comments!
you said you were looking at beehiv and other platforms. i'd be curious to know how you came to patreon in the end.
If there a way for users to toggle their content subscriptions (i.e., marketing, creative, etc.), i hope you can use patreon as your sole newsletter hub. But i will want to read your content releases anyway so it's not a dealbreaker. See ya on/via patreon
